Pocket Guide for FFVII

Privacy policy

Effective October 5, 2026

Pocket Guide doesn't collect your data. There's no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Your progress stays on your iPhone, and in your own iCloud if you turn on sync. The only thing that ever reaches me is a report you choose to send.

What stays on your iPhone

Your checklists, progress, spoiler settings and any map pins you add are saved on your device. They're never sent to me or to any server of mine.

iCloud sync

If you own Pro and leave iCloud sync on, your checklist progress and map pins are kept in your private iCloud storage through Apple's iCloud key-value service, so they appear on your other iPhones. That data is held by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. I can't see it. You can turn iCloud sync off in Pocket Guide's Settings at any time.

Purchases

Pro and the tip jar are in-app purchases handled entirely by Apple. I never see your payment details, your name or your Apple ID. Apple gives developers sales reports that don't identify you.

Reports and feedback

When you report a mistake, request missing info or send feedback and tap Send, the app sends me your message, the page you were on, the game, the app version and your iOS version. If you add your email address so I can reply, that's included too; it's optional. Nothing is sent unless you tap Send.

Reports are stored in a private database hosted by Google Firebase, and only I can read them. I use them only to fix the guide and to reply to you, keep them only as long as that takes, and I'll delete yours if you ask. If a report can't be sent, the app offers to send it as an email from your mail app instead.

No analytics, ads or tracking

Pocket Guide has no third-party SDKs, analytics, advertising or tracking. Apart from sending a report you write, it doesn't connect to any server of mine, and it doesn't use your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.

If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may give me anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. You can change that in Settings, under Privacy & Security, then Analytics & Improvements.

Links in the app, such as the Final Fantasy Wiki pages listed under Credits & sources, open in your browser. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Children

Pocket Guide doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
